Maharashtra has a new Governor. Jishnu Dev Varma was officially sworn in as the Governor of Maharashtra on Tuesday in a formal oath-taking ceremony held in Mumbai, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the state’s constitutional leadership.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was present at the ceremony and personally welcomed the new Governor with a bouquet of flowers.
“Honoured to witness Hon. Jishnu Dev Varma take oath as the Governor of Maharashtra. Wishing him a successful tenure in service of the state and its people.”
The oath-taking ceremony was held in the presence of senior dignitaries, constitutional officials, and prominent leaders from across Maharashtra. The grandeur of the occasion with the ornate golden throne, Indian national flags, and floral decorations — reflected the significance of the constitutional moment.
Jishnu Dev Varma took the oath of office in accordance with the Constitution of India, formally assuming the role of the First Citizen of Maharashtra and the constitutional head of the state.
