Abu Dhabi authorities are responding to a major fire at the Ruwais Industrial Complex following a drone attack, the emirate’s government media office confirmed Tuesday. The complex — home to ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company) facilities capable of refining up to 922,000 barrels of oil per day — serves as the central hub for the emirate’s downstream operations, including chemical, fertilizer, and industrial gas plants. Authorities confirmed no injuries at this time.
The attack is part of a widening Iranian missile and drone campaign targeting the Gulf. The UAE death toll has risen to 6, with dozens more injured across Dubai and Abu Dhabi. UAE air defences have so far destroyed 8 ballistic missiles and intercepted 26 drones in the latest wave of attacks.
In Bahrain, an Iranian strike claimed the life of a 29-year-old woman, with 8 others injured — marking the first confirmed civilian casualty on Bahraini soil since the campaign began.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi made clear that Tehran has no intention of halting its offensive. Speaking to US broadcaster PBS News, Araghchi stated that Iran is “well prepared to continue attacking with missiles as long as needed, and as long as it takes.”
The UAE has declared a state of defence, closed its airspace, shuttered its embassy in Tehran, and withdrawn all diplomats. UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited the wounded and said the country is in “a period of war” but would emerge stronger.
