During the Budget Session 2026, an important decision has been announced by DCM Sunetra Pawar to support women working in government offices in Mumbai. The government has introduced the “Come Early, Go Early” policy for women employees, aiming to reduce travel difficulties and improve work–life balance.
Relief for Women Employees
Mumbai is known for its heavy traffic and crowded public transport, which often creates challenges for working women. Through this new policy, women government employees will have the option to arrive earlier at the office and leave earlier, helping them avoid peak-hour rush.
This initiative is expected to provide significant relief, especially for women who travel long distances daily or manage household responsibilities along with their jobs.
Focus on Women’s Safety and Convenience
The policy has been introduced keeping women’s safety, convenience, and well-being in mind. By allowing flexible timing, the government hopes to reduce travel stress and make the workplace more supportive for women.
Officials believe that such measures will also help increase productivity and job satisfaction among women employees.
