
England veteran right-back Kyle Walker has announced his retirement from international football.In his own words, Walker wrote:
“After more than a decade representing my country, I have decided to retire from international football.”
The defender described representing England as the highlight of his entire playing career, stating that “Playing for England has always been the biggest honour of my career and something I will always be proud of.”
Walker took the time to thank everyone who has been part of his international journey โ teammates, coaches, managers, the 12th man, and everyone behind the scenes. He also paid a special tribute to the fans, saying that “Every roar from the fans pushed the team along” โ and revealed that he is now looking forward to joining them as a fan to support the lads at the World Cup.
On his memories in an England shirt, Walker wrote โ “The memories in an England shirt will stay with me forever.”
He also gave a heartfelt thank you to his family, saying โ “They have made this journey even more special and I will always be grateful to have shared it with them. ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ”
